We are pleased to announce that we are launching our post-collection SYST3M FAILUR3 at the upcoming edition of Helsinki Fashion Week, in Finland on July 19th, 2019.
We are looking forward to welcome you all and celebrate together our passion with you all, supporters, customers, colleague designers and the press.
SYST3M FAILUR3 - Concept
This is not fashion.
It's a comment on fashion. It is our opinion about fashion.
This is not really a collection. This are materials that are connected to our previous works, they are their discards, or their improved version.
In our work system, a "collection" does not forget the previous one nor comes to replace it. We work on a continuum, with the same message. That's why we call it „post-collection“
This "Post-collection" is a set of errors and a finger that points to them. A critique of the system as it is given while a proposal to do something new with its ruins, its remains, its garbage.
We are not the error. The error is in the system. We come to leave it in evidence and to talk about its excesses and its crimes.
Our language is eclectic but clear. We take the leftovers and make them our raw material. We distort the meanings and traditional functions of clothing to speak a more participatory, creative and inclusive language. We question the given. We laugh at the structures and hierarchies of fashion.
This post-collection is made of different materials. Sportswear, military uniforms, work uniforms. Textile discards from previous collections transformed into new garments and deconstructed second-hand garments and accessories.
And what and for whom are this clothes made for? This items are put into circulation again, as long as possible, challenging the idea of obsoleteness, replacement and discarding. And they are re-made to fit as many different bodies as possible. The bodies should not have to fit, is the clothes that needs to be made for all. But not only that, with our work we try to be an invitation to continue the process, so that the user is actively involved in rethinking, intervening and reusing the garments.
We are not functional to the system, our garments are not made for quick discarding because they do not follow a circumstantial trend and because they are durable. We do not want to do more to sell more. The idea of constant growth is a lie. We support the idea of degrowth.

Aesthetics implies ethics.
Like art, fashion has a transformative power. The aesthetic can open our eyes and allow us to see beyond the merely representative.
But in addition to the visual, we rescue the value of materials as triggers to create other kinds of relationships with them and between people. It is necessary to recover the affection for the materials, to be interested in their origin, their qualities. This will allow us to connect with what is behind them: natural resources and people.
We aim to create an alternative to the fashion system as it is proposed. We support a more human dimension of fashion. We do not agree with hyperproduction as an idea of progress. On the contrary, we are critical of what this entails, which translates into a homogenous system: a repetition of the same.
With this post-collection we seek to criticize this repetition using its excess as a vehicle to demonstrate that reduction is an added value.
In this sense, we invite you to read the book "Dissolving the ego of fashion. Engaging with Human Matters", by Danielle Bruggeman, from 2018, which has been the theoretical basis for the concept of our post-collection.

Nos complace anunciar que estaremos lanzando nuestra post-colección llamada SYST3M FAILUR3 en la Semana de la Moda de Helsinki, en Finlandia, el 19 de julio de 2019.
Esperamos darle la bienvenida a todos y celebrar juntos nuestra pasión con todos ustedes, seguidores, clientes, colegas diseñadores y la prensa.
SYST3M FAILUR3 - Concepto
Esto no es moda.
Es un comentario sobre la moda. Es nuestra opinión sobre la moda.
Esto en realidad no es una collección. Son materiales que se conectan con nuestros trabajos anteriores, que son sus descartes, o su versión mejorada.
En nuestro sistema de trabajo, una „colección“ no se olvida de la anterior ni viene a reemplazarla. Trabajamos en un continuo, con un mismos mensaje. Por eso la llamamos „post-colección“.
Esta „Post-colección“ es un conjunto de errores y un dedo que apunta sobre ellos. Una crítica al sistema tal como está dado a la vez que propone hacer algo nuevo con sus ruinas, sus restos, su basura.
Nosotras no somos el error. El error está en el sistema. Nosotras venimos a dejarlo en evidencia y a hablar de sus excesos y sus crímenes.
Nuestro lenguaje es ecléctico pero claro. Tomamos las sobras y las hacemos nuestra materia prima. Tergiversamos los significados y funciones tradicionales de la vestimenta para que hablen un lenguaje más participativo, más creativo y más inclusivo. Cuestionamos lo dado. Nos reímos de las estructuras y las jerarquías de la moda.
La post-colección está hecha de materiales diversos. Prendas deportivas, uniformes militares, uniformes de trabajo. Descartes textiles de colecciones anteriores transformadas en nuevas prendas y prendas y accesorios de segunda mano deconstruídos.
¿Y para qué y para quién está hecha esta ropa? Estos artículos se ponen en circulación nuevamente, el máximo tiempo posible, desafiando la idea de obsolecencia, de reemplazo y de descarte. Y han sido rediseñadas para que se ajusten a tantos cuerpos diferentes como sea posible. Los cuerpos no deberían tener que adaptarse, es la ropa que debe hacerse para todos. Pero no sólo eso, con nuestro trabajo intentamos ser una invitación a continuar con el proceso, de modo que el usuario participe activamente en repensar, intervenir y reutilizar las prendas.
No somos funcionales al sistema, nuestras prendas no están hechas para el rápido descarte por no seguir una tendencia circunstancial y porque son duraderas. No queremos hacer más para vender más. La idea del crecimiento constante es una mentira. Adherimos a la idea del degrowth.
El reparar y el reutilizar implican un sentido de compromiso y confianza. A través del trabajo manual se genera una conexión emocional que estimula una consciencia del origen de las cosas.
La estética implica una ética.
Como el arte, la moda tiene un poder transformativo. Lo estético nos puede abrir los ojos y permitir ver más allá de lo meramente representativo.
Pero además de lo visual, rescatamos el valor de los materiales como disparadores para crear otro tipo de relaciones para con ellos y entre las personas. Es necesario recuperar el afecto por los materiales, interesarnos por su origen, sus cualidades. Esto nos permititrá conectar con lo que hay detrás de ellos: recursos naturales y personas.
Buscamos ser una alternativa al sistema de la moda tal como esta planteado. Nos inclinamos por una dimension mas humana de la moda. No acordamos con la hiperproduccion como idea de progreso. Por el contrario, somos criticas con lo que esto acarrea, lo cual se traduce en un sistema homogeneo: una repetición de lo mismo.
Con esta post-colección buscamos criticar dicha repetición utilizando su exceso como vehiculo para demostrar que la reducción es un valor agregado.
En este sentido, invitamos a leer el libro „Dissolving the ego of fashion. Engaging with Human Matters“, by Danielle Bruggeman, from 2018, que ha sido la base teórica para el concepto de nuestra post-colección.
